ABOUT SIMON

The story behind the work

It’s been inspiring to witness how everyday insights can open the door to greater focus, peace and personal growth.

The search starts in suffering

Growing up I was outwardly confident, but inwardly insecure. I internalised a belief at a young age that I was in some way flawed and broken.

That suffering eventually became a catalyst for a search - for answers, relief and freedom from the turmoil we all experience to different degrees.

A period of transformation

That search ran parallel to my career as a broadcaster, where I spent my time alongside the world’s best athletes. After a transformative experience in 2015, I realised that the quest to relieve my suffering was not as far removed from my work reporting on the world’s biggest sporting events as I had previously believed.

I recognised that sport can be a profoundly spiritual experience. When we transcend ourselves and enter flow, which is the element of sport that people truly love, we experience deep peace and become able to easily reach previously untapped heights.

But this insight isn’t just for elite athletes — it’s applicable to everyone in every area of life.

The shift

After my experience in 2015, things rapidly shifted and my quest took me in an unexpected direction. I recognised that I didn’t need fixing — in fact there had never been anything wrong with me.

I had innocently created my own suffering by misunderstanding situations, people and life itself. Thereafter I developed a sense of clarity that allowed me to see things differently. The struggle gave way to freedom and awe.

Integrating timeless principles

I have spent years speaking to many of the world’s leading philosophers and thinkers as part of my exploration of the deeper questions – about meaning, purpose and life.

I began to see patterns - simple yet profound recognitions that can transform both elite performance and everyday life. These insights became the foundation of my work.

Helping others uncover a new way of being

Looking back, I’m grateful for the challenges I experienced. It was the catalyst for me to integrate profound insights beyond anything I could have imagined.

This perspective is what I now share through my mentoring, podcast, programs, writing, and speaking — helping thousands of others to navigate their own struggles and discover a new way of being.
